1890s Peak Tram with bridges

Unusual view onto the lower part of the Peak Tram, more to the west than the "usual photos".

Photo taken after 1892 when the MacDonnell Road bridge over Peak Tram [1892- ] was finished. Likely not much later than 1893 as the only building visible is Union Church (3rd generation) [1891-c.1944]. May Road bridge hasn't been built yet, it's from 1907.

Meeting at Tai Po Market between Sir Henry Blake and the gentry and elders of the New Territories communities at which the Governor explained the principles upon which the leased territories would be governed. Gentry and elders assembled to greet the governor and his party, 2 August, 1899.
