This timetable, extracted from a Peking-Mukden Railway "Handbook " published in 1911, shows railway connecting times for  travel between Peking and London in 12 1/2 days.

Chen Shao-kuan ( Cantonese rendering "Chan Siu Kwan") as a Navy Captain, was sent to England in 1916 to investigate modern naval practices and served as Naval Attaché to the Chinese Legation in London until 1919. Later, promoted to Admiral, he served in senior military positions to the Canton-based KMT Chinese Government.

Launching of Chinese Gunboats - Chung-Yuen & Chung-Kai

On 29th. October 1928 two fast gunboats for the Canton Government were launched at the W.S. Bailey & Company’s  shipyard in To Kwa Wan.

The new road (cutting) is being built. The 16 foot culvert for the nullah is already in place.
