Fake vintage HK photo slides

I just discovered a group of photos stolen from my Flickr page being sold on ebay, by a seller in Florida,USA. I had discretely watermarked some of them, but the marks were cropped out or obscured. I was not aware that someone could produce a fake photographic slide these days, but I guess anything is possible. They were all photos taken in the '60s and '70s of the R&R bars in Wanchai. When a rare photo of this area shows up on ebay, it usually attracts a lot of bidding, and sells for a surprising amount of money.

1950s photos from military service in Hong Kong

The 1950s saw many British servicemen spend time here in Hong Kong. They had much better access to affordable photography than earlier visitors, so we're lucky to have a good selection of photos from those years:

Nancy Griffiths, Wren, 1949-1952

Nancy served with the Naval Unit of the Hong Kong Defence Force, and was also an accomplished markswoman.

Howell Green, RASC, 1952-4

Howell served in the water transport division of the Royal Army Service Corps. To help us understand his photos, he has included extracts from letters he wrote home at the time. Here's a sample from Christmas 1953:

No doubt you will have heard about the tragic fire we have had here…a fire started in a village, Shek Kip Mei just a mile or so north of our camp, comprising of wooden shacks.   Within four hours 10,000 shacks were destroyed and 60,000 Chinese were homeless and during those four hours I was in the middle of it.

Military Intelligence, 1954/5

Pauline has sent in photos that her husband took in Hong Kong when he was stationed here. He was working in Military Intelligence, so there isn't much from work but there are plenty of interesting photos from around town and on his countryside hikes.

Hong Kong in 1900 -1913 information for novel

I'm currently writing a novel which is partly set in the period 1900 to 1913. I'm looking for background information on living accommodation in the Chinese populated areas of Hong Kong . It would be useful to have access to maps and of course I need to get to grips with the feel of the place and its culture.

Hong Kong Police anecdotes

Are Hong Kong police anecdotes welcome in this forum? I mean the printable ones with the guilty person(s) name suitably erased.

Funny anecdotes, not the unprintable ones - which give some insight to life at various places around Hong Kong.

Persons in some of the anecdotes are now dead.

Do anyone have old photos of Lugard Road?

Nowaday, Lugard Road is an internationally famous tourist spot. Has it been that famous since it was built in 1919? Any celebrities like literaturers or politicians always visited Lugard Road?

1) Can anybody share some old photos of Lugard Road showing the environment and the user of Lugard road?

2) According to the South China Morning Post dated 20 Dec 1923, Hong Kong Art Club held an annual exhibition at Helena May Institute.  And Mrs. Aubrey exhibited a picture of Lugard Road. Anyone can share any information about  the picture?
