HI I was a serving Inspector in the RHPF in the aerly seventies > Iam bisiting HK next year and wondered if the old training school at Womg Cuk Hang is still in existence, as I would very much like to see it as I haven't been back since 1974

Mysterious Abandoned Mansion at 66 Kennedy Road

Hi guys, love what you're doing on this site - always something good to read about our great city. I came across a unique building the other day which has been abandoned but is still guarded. I got a look around thanks to the guard but he had no information about it. Inside there was a lot of old dated knick-knacks - it was like time had stood still.

Leslie Thomas - author, The Virgin Soldiers

Was saddened to hear of the death of Leslie Thomas who's novel The Virgin Soldiers mirrored the lives of so many National Servicemen who served their time in Singapore and the Far East during the 1950's.

Religious Group in the New Territories Before the War

Stanley Wort was a navy signaller stationed in Hong Kong from September 1940. While there he heard something that interested him from another member of his mess on the Peak:

He had come across a group somewhere in the New Territories, which was endavouring to merge the Christian faith with that of Islam and Judaism.

One day his friend drove him to the group's 'monastery' (Wort's quotation marks):
