How do I find photos of a specific building?

Let's imagine you're looking for photos of 250 Prince Edward Road, taken around the 1950s.

First visit Gwulo's map and zoom in to the area showing the building you are interested in: Map of all Places

(You can try different layers. e.g. the 'Map by OSM' layer is better at showing the names and street numbers of buildings.)

This is the latest Jurors List we're making searchable - here's how to join in, it'll only take around 30 minutes of your time.

We'll take the previous year's spreadsheet, then work through it page-by-page and edit in any changes so it matches this year's Jurors List.

1936 Jurors List

[The list has been typed up by volunteers: David, Dede, Grace, joreed, LizB, SandyHamilton, and wingcli2015. Please help us type up the lists from other years - it takes less than 30 minutes to finish a page - click here for details.]

Why can't I login?

One of Gwulo's long-term contributors recently got in touch to say they couldn't log in to the Gwulo website. They'd enter their usual username and password, and they seemed to log in without any errors, but the "What's new" page didn't show anything as new, and if they tried to add anything to the site (eg add a comment, upload a photo, etc.) the website asked them to login again.

1903 Map of Kowloon

1903 Kowloon City

The latest addition to Gwulo's collection of maps is one of Kowloon from 1903.

If we compare its view of Tsim Sha Tsui with a couple of other maps on Gwulo, it seems this is a poor addition to the site, looking rather smudged, and without much text to tell us what we're looking at:

Victoria barracks

I just seen the photo of the nadfi and swimmingpool  at Victoria barracks  and boy the memories are flooding back. I was only 11y but used to swim there's lot. My old dad was a telephone engineer and worked up the peak. We lived in flats at 154 tai hang road and my school was at George's Kowloon close to Kai tak airport.
