Royal Marine Commando Brigade in HK - 1949/1950

I would be very interested in seeing any photographs or receiving any other information regarding the location of HQ 3 Commando Brigade in HK between 1949 and 1950. I am researching a biography of General Sir George Lea, who (despite being an Army Lt Col) was DAA & QMG of 3 Commando Brigade between June 1949 and January 1951. He was responsible for moving the Brigade from Malta to HK in 1949 and then from HK to Malaya in 1950.

Looking for great grandparents.

According to family records my grandmother was born in Shanghai in 1902.  Her name at birth was either Isabel Enid Brown or Isabel Enid van Eps.  I have been told (by my uncle) that her father's name was William Edgar van Eps Bruin.  However, I doubt these two surnames go together.

As opposed to other similar firms operating today in Hong Kong that lay claim to longevities in trading, Wai Kee is the oldest retail jeweller and silversmith in Hong Kong.

The future of Hong Kong history as public interest and discipline

An interesting discussion was hosted an hour or so ago by OxHKForum - between Dr Vivian Kong of Bristol, Haidee Or and Prof John D Wong HKU on this topic - a lot on the interaction between history online via social media, blogs and other site and academia. Gwulo recieved a very honourable mention, naturally! I think its still possible to register and log on to catch the talk over this weekend. https://www.oxhkforum.com/history.html
