Here's a summary of what's new on Gwulo. Please click through to the linked pages to leave a comment if you can add any information.
General
- In the last newsletter I asked what the BP Marker Stones were for. A couple more have been added to the map, and there's a suggestion they were military trig points.
- Can anyone tell us more about what Forestry Lots were used for?
- Sharon asks where were the British Army houses on Redhill in the mid-1960s, and hopes to hear from anyone who lived there at the time.
- Film footage of the 1937 Typhoon (only viewable in the UK).
- Affects of the Coronavirus on Gwulo's book orders & deliveries:
- Hong Kong - No major delays, with books arriving 1-3 working days after an order is placed. We have all the Gwulo books (Volumes 1 / 2 / 3) in stock, as well as Patricia O'Sullivan's Policing Hong Kong - An Irish History and Barbara Anslow's Tin Hats & Rice.
- USA - Amazon.com still has stock of all three Gwulo books, so that's currently the best way for American readers to order.
- North America and Europe - HK Post has suspended the airmail services I usually use to send orders to North America and Europe. You're still welcome to order on the Gwulo website, and let me know if you'd like me to send your order via surface mail or hold it until airmail services resume.
