One consequence of this aircraft being parked outside next to the noxious Kai Tak nullah was that it started to suffer badly from corrosion caused by fumes emitted from the nullah. The HKAAF hanger and facilities were then closer to the terminal area where the nullah surfaced before they moved to new premises at the other end of the runway near the taxiway bridge.
