Its amazing that the rain storm water could be so deep at this point as the seawall was nearby berthing the Walla-Wallas. You would expect it to quickly run off into the sea. The Mandarin Hotel is in the background and the adjacent pedestrian underpass was flooded to its roof. IDJ <Read more ...>
Part of a wonderful series of photos documenting life viewed from the Peak in Hong Kong immediately post-war to the Fifties. Anyone able to identify the occasion? am guessing it's part of Queen Elizabeth Coronation in 1953, given the other photos depicting the parade.
