Pictures for Tung

Here are four other pictures.

The first is another view of the beach. The picture of the bungalow by itself says on the back in her handwriting: "Back view of our bungalow. You can see they have just started to build the kitchens on each side of the steps."

My aunt is pictured on those steps with one of her dogs on the third picture.

Buildings in background?

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):

Came across this picture of my great grandfather John Olson aka Jons Jakobsson and wonder if anybody has a clue about the buildings in background of picture.

Unfortunately no notation on back of picture.

This was on the north corner of the Peel Street / Caine Road junction. Jill Fell notes that several of her and Sean Olson's ancestors lived here in the 1900s. The following names and addresses were copied by Jill's father’s nephew, Brian Lewis, from the South China Directory, vols. 1904-1906, lodged at the British Library:

Mrs Olson 33 Caine Road; Miss L Olson 33 Caine Road; Mrs C E Warren 33 Caine Road.

Happy Valley Matsheds

This very grainy picture may show on bottom left Elizabeth Olson with her mother Ching Ah Fung at the races in Happy Valley. Above in a boater with a goatee beard is a man who may be my great grandfather John Olson.

Picture is prompted by Liz Chater's post on the fire in 1918.

I wonder if anybody can help me in tracking down family or relations of the late Sir Yuet Keung Kan who died recently? I am advised that his family may be able to help me in finding the son and daughter of the late Sir CY Kwan.

I am still making efforts to track down the family of my great grandmother Ching Ah Fung who died in 1915 and it is possible the son and daughter of Sir CY Kwan may be able to give me a lead.

Many thanks,

Sean Olson

Graves in Happy Valley

Date picture taken (to nearest decade for older photos):
2010

This is a collage of my great grandfather John Olson's ( 1918) and great grandmother Ellen Olson's (aka Ching Ah Fung) (1915)  graves in Happy Valley.

They are close to each other in actuality.

As an earlier post confirms John's grave was built by C.W.Warren and Co, who are now not  in existance, it is fair to assume that my great grandmother's grave was also erected by that company as the two are similar.
