Peter Hall - In the Web

Hi Liz and Andrew I took your advise and made a order for Peter Hall 's book - "In The Web"using the link provided in the forum www.countyvise.co.uk. It has been a week already and I have sent out two emails to check the order status, but no one from countyvise reply me. Is this a trustful website? I paid by credit card online and I am a bit worry. RAF v. HONG KONG cricket matches 1980

My late father, Flight Sergeant Graham Brown, visited Hong Kong in (I believe) 1980 to umpire a sereis of cricket matches. He did this in his capacity as an RAF cricket umpire. There is nobody left in the family who really remembers the details of this tour that he made. I was 13 years old at the time and the tales of his trip made quite some impression on me when he returned back to the UK after his short Hong Kong visit.

Barbara Anslow's diary entry today records the arrival of some of the '$75 dollar parcels' in Stanley.

Cheung Chau's European Reservation

You know that the Peak was once off-limits to Chinese residents. But did you know that a large part of Cheung Chau was too?

A Kowloon Kangaroo?

Quite recently I was passed on the following story in the North China Daily Herald of May 7 1921:

WHAT WAS IT ?

Sek Kong Village 1953.

Hi all, we lived in Hong Kong 1953-55. My dad was in the 1st Kings Reg and was posted to Hong Kong from Korea. I was 9 years old at the time, first we lived in Minden Ave in Kowloon a quiet little ave which backed on to Signal Hill. I have looked at it now on Google earth and it is unrecognisable today.

Inaccuracies

Hi, Could you please correct an inaccuracy that is part of the Bosman family tree? Annelise the manager has incorrectly listed Hau Ming Kwaan as deceased when he is alive, in fact. It is not very nice to read something like this sort of inaccracy on the Internet. And, I would appreciate it if this information is corrected. Thank-you.
