RASC Launch HUMBER

Does anyone know anything about the RASC launch HUMBER when it was in Hong Kong?  I have learnt online that she was transferred on the 28th September 1949 to 79Coy RASC  WT to be stationed at Sham Shui Po,  Hong Kong and that in the early 1950s she was redesignated as a FMB in keeping with"Navy Speak" at the base HMS Tamar.  She was permanently assigned to the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Hong Kong,  Major General G. C. Cruddas and that she was used as a VIP launch on which to entertain distinguished visitors.

List of Burials ordered by Plot

This list was compiled by Patricia Lim with the help of Cliff Atkins. It is part of the research for Patricia's recently released book, Forgotten Souls: A Social History of the Hong Kong Cemetery. Thank you to Patricia for generously letting us publish the list so that everyone interested in Hong Kong's history can benefit from it.

Some brief notes on each of the columns:

New member looking of course for old friends!

Hi all, new member. Arrived in HK September 1977 and what a culture shock but well worth it - had a ball - worked for the HK Mental Health Services for three years and tried to get a new contract but no luck so had to leave in '81.

work wasn't too interesting but the social life was. Had a goodly group of friends mixed marriages, ozzie and chinese, english and chinese, american and chinese etc etc and then the usual group of ex-pats who were either single or non-mixed marriages - the two groups occasionally collided but not much a case of sliding doors!

Started 1909, pg1-19

This is the latest Jurors List we're making searchable - here's how to join in, it'll only take around 20-30 minutes of your time.

The job is to take the previous year's list, then work through it page-by-page and edit in any changes so it matches this year's list.

Step 1. Check the comments below to see which was the last page someone has started typing. You'll work on the next page. eg if the last comment is "started page 7", you'll be working on page 8.

1908 Jurors List

[The list has been typed up by volunteers: David, Grace, Kate, Michael, Neville and Sean. Please help us type up the lists from other years - it takes less than 30 minutes to finish a page. Click here for details.]

Bellios Public School

Anybody got any suggestions as to where I might find records of Bellios Public School. Need to go back to 1905.

Have had no reply from school website.
