A photograph of part of Hong Kong taken in 1923 - note the recently built Cenotaph commemorating the dead of the Great War. This was in fact constructed in 1923, and is almost an exact replica of the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London which was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens (1869-1944). <Read more ...>

This picture was orginally taken as a set of four single pictures that I have merged to one panorama picture. Sorry for the stains on the original pictures.
It was taken from the living room of our house at 31, Lugard Road by my father in 1981.
It shows Kennedy Town and the much wider harbour at the eighties.
Also the fortress on Hatton Road is on the picture and to the left Green Island. Straight ahead towards Kowloon is Stonecutters Island. <Read more ...>
