歲月神偷 白加道纜車站 Barker Road Station 2008, Hong Kong Now and Then

Photos of the Barker Road station of the Peak Tram. The old photo is from the 1910s, the others are from 2008.

On the old one Glenshiel is visible behind the tracks, this likely sets the date to about 1915. On the 2008 one Epworth Lodge can be seen.

Hong Kong3 Victoria Peak_sep1991

In this image Tregunter Blocks 1 and 2 are wrapped in greens scaffold, and Block 3 seems to be gone - only a plaform left.

Just note the difference to the 1990 image in http://gwulo.com/atom/23309.

This was in an envelope of negatives labled "Mr. Johnson". They would have been kept by Mary Wright, wife of J.F. Wright, and taken when they lived in Hong Kong. I am curious about the date, and the tower to the right of the buildings. Also, I would be grateful if anyone could tag the buildings. That is beyond my level of expertese! I believe that the building above what is either a foundation or a tennis court is Creggan [RBL-8 is near Strawberry Hill, just off Plantation Road], built by Thomas Jackson - probably in 1877.

Peak Tram and new Richmond Houses

Nearly got it. By the end of 2002 the new Richmond Houses A-D are under construction, so second generation Richmond House was probably demolished in 2001 (in November 2000 it was still standing). That was an error, second generation was already gone by end of 1999!
