This is cropped from http://gwulo.com/atom/21801. The building in the center quite near to the top seems to be Richmond House (1st generation). Right hand side (near to the bottom) could be Branksome Towers.

Others in the Carlberg album are dated 1950, this one might be a bit earlier as there is nothing to see from the Bank of China Building.

Alice Dyer to Alexander Laihovetsky, letter 1, 1931

I think Alice was probably the wife of the Kowloon Docks manager.

Captain Alexander Laihovetsky lived in HK from about 1919-42, apart from a period in the 1920s when he took his family to Canada chicken-farming - probably the reason he came to be considered an "expert" on chickens. He even kept chickens on his ship.
