This image has a copyright date of 1902 (if I read that correctly). There are chair coolies, possibly on Lugard Road (Peak Road would then wind up the hill on left-hand side). The buildings in the centre could be Peak Hotel and Peak Tram Upper Terminus. So the date could be around 1900. <Read more ...>

Nearly got it. By the end of 2002 the new Richmond Houses A-D are under construction, so second generation Richmond House was probably demolished in 2001 (in November 2000 it was still standing). That was an error, second generation was already gone by end of 1999! <Read more ...>
